Club Accord January 2002 Newsletter Thirty or more members and friends attended our January meeting. The Theme for the night was Films, Television and shows. Tracey began the entertainment with three songs from Walt Disney films, "Beauty and The Beast", "Gaston" and "A Whole New World", and ended with the Theme from "Titanic". Next came Neil accompanied by Graham on drums, to play "Coming Thru the Rye", "Shufflin Samuel" and a selection of Scottish songs. Tony with his midi accordion was our next member and he began with "Taras Theme from Doctor Zhivago", "Moulin Rouge" and "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire". Tony continued playing a lovely variety of tunes such as "Never on a Sunday", "Somewhere my Love", and "Last of the Summer Wine". He finished with "Music of the Night" from "Phantom of the Opera", and the theme from "Cats" - "Memory". Erica carried on with two songs, one from "Around the World in 80 Days", and "La Golandrina", nice to hear Erica improving all the time. During the interval we held the raffle and Neil won the attendance members award. Pat Rose began the second half with her usual flair with the "Sound of Music", "True Love", "Easter Bonnet", and "The Night They Invented Champagne". Pat kept the music flowing with lots of songs and ended with "Zorba the Greek". And played a selection of folk tunes and the ever popular "Dark Island". Next came Terry who began with "High Noon" and "I could have Danced All Night", from "My Fair Lady". Others included "GI Blues", "Wooden Heart", "Russian Patrol" and "Hermans' Hide Away" from the "Pyjama Game", a lot of which were requests from the audience. Pat Rose joined Terry to play "O Sole Mio" and "Sorrento". Time beat us in the end, the night went so quickly.
